When my vehicle arrives on site what happens?
The vehicle that requires repair may have arrived at our workshop via a recovery vehicle from the accident site. One of our helpful drivers might take your vehicle to the workshop, or you can bring it yourself.
When it arrives
We log all details of your vehicle into our system, then we ensure that it is stored securely. We like to keep our customers informed and up-to-date about any car bodywork, which is why we send regular updates via email, phone or text message.
If you entitled to a courtesy car then this will be offered to you. This gives you peace of mind that you can still get around, but rest assured that we will do all we can to repair your vehicle you as soon as possible.
Initial assessment
When your vehicle arrives for car body repairs in our accident repair centre in Croydon we will get to work immediately. Our accredited Vehicle Damage Assessors will examine your vehicle to assess the damage and understand the repairs required. We will then be able to give an estimated date of completion. We will ensure that all of this information is passed onto your insurance company or third party.
As soon as we are given authority, we can use the relevant information to schedule your vehicle in for repair, and place an order for the parts we require.
If your vehicle is dismantled
It is a common requirement for us to remove certain parts of your vehicle to access other areas that are affected by damage. At this point, we will carry out another assessment to see if any further damage has occurred. If further damage has been caused then we will give your insurance company this information and continue with the bodywork repairs.
Specialist equipment
For vehicles that have suffered significant damage we may need to use specialist equipment. This could be recalibration equipment, manufacturers electronic diagnostic equipment or specialised welding equipment. This equipment allows us to restore your car to its former glory. We inspect the smallest amount of damage as this can lead to further problems. So whether your vehicle requires dent removal or a complete respray we take care of it all.
Paint-shop work
Once your vehicle has been through an extensive bodywork repair it is time to deal with the paint job. Every car has its own unique colour code depending on the manufacturer, so we ensure we have everything right. We use specialist equipment to formulate your paint. We then apply layers of colour and a topcoat lacquer before drying it, giving the perfect finish.
Refitting parts
As soon as the vehicle has dried we complete the reassembly. This means that we refit all components that have been removed as part of the process. We then re-check the bodywork and give your vehicle an all round check.
Guaranteed quality
We pride ourselves on quality, which is why we check every step of the process. As part of our quality control process all interim checks are confirmed and your vehicle may be taken for a road test.
Your vehicle will then receive a full wash and vacuum to complete the repair process. We then contact you to arrange a suitable time for you to collect your vehicle.
We do offer a mini-valet for a small additional charge.
